Paul L. Epner

Paul L. Epner, M.B.A., M.Ed., is the executive vice president, a co-founder and a director of the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine, a nonprofit, physician-led organization that seeks to improve patient safety by ensuring that diagnoses are made in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. He is the chair of the Coalition to Improve Diagnosis, a multi-organization collaboration. Epner is immediate past president of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association, where he leads the Increasing Clinical Effectiveness Initiative. He is a member of the CDC’s Clinical Laboratory Integration into Healthcare Collaborative, a consultant to their Laboratory Medicine Best Practices program and chair of the Coordinating Council on the Clinical Laboratory Workforce’s Taskforce on Measuring Testing-Related Value.
